This experience has been obtained as an investment promotion officer at the Investment Promotion Centre, a Deputy Co-ordinator of the Privatization Programme and later as the Investment Secretary with overall responsibility for privatization and public enterprise reform in Kenya. During this period she oversaw several privatization transactions and procured and co-ordinated many consultancy services. She has also had the privilege of serving as Kenya’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Information where, as the Accounting Officer, she had overall responsibility for running the Ministry with specific focus on private sector facilitation and development in the tourism and the film industries. She also served as the Managing Director of Kenya Post Office Savings Bank. Academics Ms. Esther Koimett is a holder of an MBA, with over 25 years experience in public service in Kenya, 15 of which have been spent in Investment promotion, privatization and public enterprise reform. Responsibilities She is currently a Director, Nairobi Stock Exchange and alternate director in several companies. She has attended several international courses on various aspects of privatization and public private partnerships. In May 2002, she was privileged to be a participant on the US International Visitor programme entitled “Multi Regional Programme on Privatization and the US Economy”.
