PRESS RELEASE ON BUDGET 2018-2019

 

As you are aware, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Mr. Henry Rotich will be delivering the Budget Statement for the FY 2018/19 to Parliament on 14th June 2018. While finalizing the Statement, the Cabinet Secretary would appreciate contributions and ideas on policy and tax measures from Kenyans for the FY 2018/19 Budget. 

 


In this respect, please share specific or general tips for the FY 2018/19 Budget Statement using the format available on the National Treasury’s website under the icon: 2018/19 Budget Tips. Your proposals should be centered on the following areas:

i. Measures to support manufacturing sector to enable value addition and job creation;
ii. Suggestions on how to enhance food and nutrition security for all Kenyans;
iii. Proposals on how accelerate achievement of Universal Health Coverage;
iv. Measures to support the construction of at least five hundred thousand (500,000) decent and affordable houses for Kenyans;
v. Policy options to make Kenya’s economic growth more inclusive and broad based;
vi. Suggestions on how to create more jobs, and reduce poverty and inequality;
vii. Tips on how to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and create more jobs;
viii. Ways to prudently manage public resources, effectively deal with corruption and seal revenue leakage loopholes;
ix. Proposals on how to support devolution and enhance service delivery at the county level;
x. Any other tip /suggestion.

Please share your tips or suggestions with the National Treasury by close of business on 11th June, 2018 via the National Treasury website www.treasury.go.ke under the icon 2018/19 Budget Tips for consideration.
