The National Treasury Ag. Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani has promised to allocate more resources to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) for automation and installation of scanners at the revenue collection points. Yatani gave the assurance while addressing the KRA staff at the Times Tower Building.

Yatani had made a familiarization tour at the Inland Container Depot, Embakasi and KRA's Customs Department at Times Tower Building today.

"The level of commitment and passion among the staff is amazing," said Yatani while acknowledging the increased revenue collection by KRA.

Yatani also reiterated the government’s support to KRA and other law enforcing agencies in fighting counterfeits and tax evasion. “Success for KRA is success for the Government,” he emphasized.

In the meeting, KRA Commissioner General, Mr. Mburu was upbeat on KRA’s success in revenue collection due to ongoing automation. “We have increased our revenue collection from 30 billion to 50 billion a month,” he said.

During the tour, the Minister was accompanied by both National Treasury and KRA senior officials.
